The Schoolhouse Market Lead (SML) supports the Company Store Manager (CSM) in pursuit of established goals and objectives. In addition, they help to ensure that Schoolhouse Market operations run smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
The SML will support the team in achieving goals by providing World-Class service. They serve as a role model for building relationships with customers. They will maintain presence through store supervision to ensure appropriate staff coverage in all areas of the store. They will implement visual changes and maintain store standards to create a unique shopping experience that will draw on the history of the schoolhouse and Company.
Supervise team members in all phases of store activities to ensure proper store operation
Work closely with CSM to ensure quality and quantity of merchandise and displays for the Schoolhouse Market.
Ensure the store is kept clean at all times
Collect sales data from sales team and generate reports on routine basis
Assume store leadership responsibility in the absence of the CSM.
Maintain specified inventory and order merchandise
Oversee the standard processes for receiving store merchandise
Support store recruitment and training and development
Maintain Company policy and procedures.
Assist CSM and Pricing Coordinator with locating, negotiating for and purchasing unique sellable items that will fit the atmosphere of the Schoolhouse Market.
Delivers exceptional customer service by maintaining the customer come first attitude and through personal contact with customers while promoting sales by sampling merchandise and products to customers as well as staff.
Work with new and existing vendors to create selling partners for the Schoolhouse Market.
Perform all daily functions of operating the Schoolhouse Market to include opening and closing operations of the market.
Perform all duties in the Schoolhouse Market in efforts to obtain the annual budget.
Train store staff to all proper work duties and responsibilities of the Schoolhouse Market. Delivering training sessions; reviewing staff job results and learning needs with retail store manager; developing and implementing new product training.
Help customers providing information; answering questions; obtaining merchandise requested; completing payment transactions; preparing merchandise for delivery.
Maintains a safe and clean store environment.
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. Follows established QA procedures and communicates with QA department when needed.
Assists with or prepares staff work schedules based on anticipating customer demand and ensuring process adherence of company SOP’s and the highest quality of customer service environment while managing an efficient labor force that will achieve the Company store’s labor budget.
Assists with staff evaluations, performance warnings, performance recognition, moral, and discipline.
Works collectively with her/his direct report on interviewing and hiring.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Post-secondary education desired, but not required
Customer Service (Intermediate)

A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a retail environment is required.
