Setup tech must have good understanding of mold function. Set up mold into press. (Including water, hydraulic and electrical) Test connections, water flow, hydraulic, and electrical prior to start up. Match proper nozzle (clean nozzle body) and connect DME units when needed. Set up machine/mold parameters according to setup sheet. Bring and set up auxiliary equipment to work station as required. Inform the Process Tech and/or Supervisor if you encounter problems with a set-up. Set up conveyor, bins at machine to insure proper removal of parts. Spray molds prior to storage to prevent mold damage. Clean and organize area around machine after set-up is completed. Clean press platens between mold changes. Operate and understand press controls. Fill out mold and machine maintenance request forms and tags. (Press and auxiliary) Make sure to include defective parts with mold repair request. Clean loaders, filters, and hoses on the machine before beginning a mold change. Complete all required documentation for set-up. Perform any additional tasks as requested by your supervisor. Assist when necessary in the cleaning and placement of dryers and grinders to ensure that they are in place and functional prior to starting up the press. Ensure that the grinders and loaders are set up to consume regrind material whenever possible. Breaks and/or lunches cannot coincide with another set up technician- there must be technical staff on the floor at all times Ensure part weight and color percentage matches work order and then is documented on form provided.
