DIRECTOR OF MARKETING FOR GREEN BAY PACKERS TO SPEAK AT BUSINESS EXPO
SHAWANO WI—The Shawano Country Chamber of Commerce has announced their Business Expo keynote luncheon speaker is Craig Benzel, director of marketing and corporate sales for the Green Bay Packers. Benzel will share what it takes to promote and protect a world famous brand, how he has developed new revenue sources during a tough economy, and he will also share a secret or two about what exactly goes on behind the scenes during a Packer game. The Business Expo will be held on Thursday, October 27 at the Menominee Casino Resort Conference Center in Keshena. The luncheon is 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The cost is $20 per person for Shawano Country Chamber of Commerce members and $30 per person for non-members. The Business Expo will be held immediately after the luncheon from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Admission to the Expo is free with a ticket, business card or non-perishable food item. Tickets are available at the Chamber, 1263 S. Main Street in Shawano.
Benzel has more than 20 years of experience in sports marketing, including thirteen years with the Packers and six years with the Milwaukee Wave professional soccer team, where he served as vice president of marketing. He began his career as an intern with the Milwaukee Brewers.
With the Packers, Benzel is responsible for corporate sponsorship sales, strategic planning and marketing for the Packers and Lambeau Field, special-event marketing, project management, game operations and entertainment, development of new revenue sources, brand development and protection, regional licensing agreements, management of affinity programs, development of television and radio programming and management of broadcast partnerships.
Benzel earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and business management from Ripon College in 1986. He received a master’s of business administration with an emphasis on marketing from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and spent two years as director of corporate sponsorships for UWLC’s athletic department.
